Basic Sewing & Alterations Classes at The Arts Center Carrboro

I'm back and sharing my skills at The Arts Center Carrboro! Though I have been absent from posting to my website, and no longer offering alterations services full time, I have been sewing up a storm for colterdillon.com and coming up with more ways to share my sewing skills with the public. This winter and spring I will be offering courses through the Arts Center's Artschool program for teens and adults. One of the classes, Collage your Clothes, focuses on creative re-use and hand sewing techniques. In this 2.5 hour class, students will learn how to applique tee shirt graphics onto other pieces of clothing and hand sewing techniques to secure and decorate them. The second class I am offering is Beginner's Sewing and Basic Alterations. This 6 week class introduces students to the use of a sewing machine and techniques for hemming, mending, and taking in garments. Both classes begin February 24, 2024 and you can still register.
